The Woods by San Fermin & BalletCollective
The Woods is Ludwig-Leone and Schumacher’s newest and perhaps most ambitious collaboration yet: exploding the rich musical universe of San Fermin’s catalogue across an enveloping set designed by Jason Ardizzone-West (Redwood, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa). The set is visually inspired by an original sculpture by Ardizzone-West: a fractured frame with a snow white surface, belying something blood red and alive beneath. Featuring a cast of 17 dancers and singers moving freely across multiple stages and amongst the audience, the set becomes a living, breathing entity, while the band, situated throughout the space, puts the audience inside the music-making. Costumes by CFDA Award-winning fashion designer Elena Velez conjure a mythic dreamscape where fantasy and reality blur over the course of the 75 minute show.
The Music of Lucia Dlugoszewski
Bowerbird and FringeArts of Philadelphia present Pure Lucia – Night 2: Duende Otherness, a program of compositions by legendary Polish-American New York composer Lucia Dlugoszewski (1925 – 2000). Part of a multi-event survey of Dlugoszewski’s life and work, Either/Or performs her 1965 work Lords Of Persia, a score created for the Erick Hawkins Dance Co. Traveling with the group is Christa Van Alstine (clarinets), Lauren Cauley (violin), Olivia Pidi (trumpet), Matt Melore (bass trombone), Russell Greenberg (percussion), and Chris McIntyre (conductor).

Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival
Each of the pieces on this program evokes a story of travel: escape, emigration, education and employment abroad, eternal farewell. The works of a young generation of Ukrainian composers are paired with established voices from Ukraine, including the country’s most famous living composer and two of contemporary music’s leading figures.
